Veterinary Care Assistant – Full Time in Royston

About the role

We are seeking a Veterinary Care Assistant to join our busy Reed Veterinary Surgery in Royston. The role offers a hands‑on, varied day supporting our veterinary surgeons and registered nurses while providing a calm and welcoming environment for pets and their owners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the clinical team with patient handling and care.
• Prepare consulting rooms, surgery theatres and other clinical areas for appointments.
• Clean, maintain and sterilise equipment to high standards.
• Support the comfort and monitoring of hospitalised animals.
• Maintain strict hygiene and infection‑control procedures throughout the practice.
• Restock clinical supplies and monitor inventory levels.
• Help with general practice tasks and ensure a tidy reception area.
• Provide a warm, compassionate experience for clients and their pets.
