Veterinary Receptionist

About the role

Ark Veterinary Centre is looking for a friendly and organised Veterinary Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our clients and their pets. You will work in a modern, self‑contained practice in Mobberley, supporting a close‑knit team that has been caring for animals since 1999.

Key responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments and manage the daily diary.
• Respond to client enquiries by phone, email and face‑to‑face with professionalism.
• Greet, register and welcome new clients, ensuring a warm reception.
• Process insurance paperwork and manage medication dispensing.
• Handle cash, card and other financial transactions accurately.
• Provide empathetic support to owners during stressful situations.
• Maintain patient records using the in‑house practice management system.
• Liaise with other veterinary practices to coordinate patient care.
• Contact clients regarding outstanding debts, refunds or missing items.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal‑care reception role.
• Excellent communication skills and a calm, caring attitude.
• Strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
• Team‑oriented mindset with reliability and punctuality.

• Permanent contract – 40 hours per week.
• Monday‑Friday shift (08:30‑18:30) plus a 1:4 share of the Sunday rota.
