Vice President – Front Office Tax Advisory

About the role

Nomura is seeking a Vice President to lead Front Office Tax Advisory for its Wholesale Business in London. The role blends deep tax expertise with commercial judgment, providing independent oversight and guidance to trading desks and investment banking teams across EMEA.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary tax advisor to trading desks and investment banking teams, delivering timely, commercially‑focused tax guidance.
• Identify and assess tax risks and opportunities in existing and proposed trading strategies.
• Conduct cross‑border tax analysis on complex multi‑jurisdictional transactions.
• Provide independent tax review and sign‑off for new product approvals and transaction committees.
• Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, positioning tax as a value‑adding partner.
• Support governance and risk‑management processes across the front office.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in corporate tax, preferably within a financial services environment.
• Proven ability to operate autonomously and influence senior business leaders.
• Strong commercial acumen and sound judgment in assessing tax risk.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build trusted partnerships.
