Vice President & Senior VP Java – Equities (London/Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for a senior technology leader to join our Equities Engineering team. The role is contract‑based (12‑month initial) and will be based in London with a hybrid working model (four days onsite per week).

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design for the Trade‑Flow platform, ensuring scalability and resilience.
• Drive cross‑functional collaboration across execution services, platform engineering and product teams.
• Champion technology innovation, including AI‑driven automation and modern development practices.
• Provide production support and mentor junior engineers to raise overall engineering excellence.
• Oversee mentorship and technical leadership initiatives within the team.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience building real‑time, high‑throughput software in Financial Services or a similarly complex domain.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proven problem‑solving ability and a pragmatic, innovative approach to delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Experience with AI‑augmented development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or Claude Code.
