Vice President – Strategic Investments (Services)

About the role

The Vice President in Services Strategic Investments will lead the sourcing, execution and management of principal investments in fintech companies across the region. Reporting to the Global Head of Services Strategic Investments, the role works closely with business heads, product leads and sales teams to identify and execute strategic opportunities that enhance Citi's Services portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Define regional investment strategy and focus areas in collaboration with senior managers and subject‑matter experts.
• Build and maintain a sourcing network and relationships to uncover new fintech investment opportunities.
• Lead negotiations, conduct due diligence and execute investment deals.
• Support governance processes, prepare risk assessments, valuations and periodic portfolio reviews.
• Maintain regular dialogue with Risk and senior management to surface and manage emerging risks.
• Monitor and enhance performance of portfolio companies, including board or observer duties.
• Connect portfolio companies with Citi’s internal experts and guide them through the vendor onboarding process.
• Mentor junior team members on investment analysis, due diligence and risk management.

Required profile

• 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably with 5+ years in venture or strategic investments within fintech.
• Proven track record of sourcing, negotiating and managing investment transactions.
• Strong understanding of fintech ecosystems, corporate services and regulatory environments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
