Visual Arts Tutor – Film & Media (0.8 FTE)

About the role

We are seeking a Visual Arts Tutor specialising in Film & Media to join a forward‑thinking further education provider in East London. You will deliver engaging, industry‑relevant teaching to 16‑19‑year‑olds across visual arts pathways, working approximately 19 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess high‑quality lessons across visual arts programmes, including Film, Graphics and Photography.
• Support students' academic and personal development through effective tutorial and pastoral guidance.
• Track student progress, attendance and achievement.
• Contribute to curriculum development and course planning.
• Support enrichment activities such as trips, industry engagement and course promotion.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards and positive outcomes for learners.

Required profile

• Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant visual arts subject.
• Experience delivering high‑quality teaching and assessment to 16‑19‑year‑olds.
• Strong subject knowledge across visual arts disciplines.
• Ability to support student wellbeing and manage behaviour effectively.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes for young people.
• Teaching qualification (or working towards) – desirable.
• Industry experience within film, media, graphics or photography – desirable.
• Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud – desirable.
