Voluntary Returns Service Client Adviser

About the role

Migrant Help is seeking a Voluntary Returns Service (VRS) Client Adviser to join its dedicated VRS team. You will provide person‑centred information, practical support and ongoing engagement to vulnerable migrants who may be eligible for voluntary return assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver VRS information, outreach and engagement across agreed regions through community drop‑in clinics, partner sessions, telephone, Microsoft Teams and other remote channels.
• Hold voluntary return conversations in a trauma‑informed, culturally sensitive and impartial manner, explaining pathways and next steps without giving regulated immigration advice.
• Assist clients with the VRS application process, including explaining requirements, supporting document collection and submitting information.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with internal data‑handling procedures.

Required profile

• Demonstrable experience working empathetically with people facing transition and uncertainty.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and sensitively.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams for remote communication.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract until 31 March 2027 with potential extension or permanent placement.
• Salary range £30,457 – £34,682 per year, increasing after successful probation.
