About the role
Join the Metropolitan Police as a Special Constable and serve the community on a volunteer basis. You will work alongside full‑time officers, wearing the same uniform and holding the same powers, while committing to a minimum of 200 hours per year.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to emergency (999) calls and patrol neighbourhoods.
- Investigate incidents, present evidence in court and tackle antisocial behaviour.
- Support vulnerable individuals and assist in community outreach programmes.
Required profile
- Commit to at least 16 hours of volunteering each month.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Strong communication skills and the capacity to remain calm in high‑pressure situations.
Required skills
- Basic first‑aid knowledge.
- Understanding of public safety and community engagement.
