VP, Alternatives Operations Manager

About the role

PIMCO is seeking a Vice President to join its global Alternatives Operations team in London. The role will act as the senior operational partner for European Portfolio Managers across Alternative Credit, Special Situations and Insurance Solutions platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end operational oversight for private and originated investments, from deal execution and funding through settlement, ongoing maintenance, restructurings and exit events.
• Collaborate closely with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Treasury, Product Strategy, Tax and third‑party service providers to ensure operational readiness and a robust control environment.
• Drive operational excellence, enhance controls, and manage key service‑provider relationships.
• Lead strategic initiatives and act as the escalation point for complex financing structures, bespoke transactions and operational issues across European portfolios.
• Support cross‑functional teams in London, Newport Beach, New York, Austin and Dublin to deliver seamless investment operations.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of private credit markets, complex debt structures and alternative investment operations.
• Proven experience in senior operational roles within fast‑paced investment environments.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with legal, compliance, finance and technology teams.
• Demonstrated project leadership and stakeholder management skills.
