VP of Engineering – Healthtech Scale‑up

About the role

Join a fast‑growing, cash‑flow‑positive healthtech scale‑up serving 20% of the UK population. As the single most senior engineer, you will own the global engineering function and report directly to the CEO, driving technical strategy and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall technical strategy for a worldwide engineering team.
• Lead and expand a high‑performance team of 15+ elite engineers, many of whom are former founders.
• Build a hiring engine to grow the team to 25+ all‑stars while maintaining a high talent bar.
• Transform the engineering culture into an agent‑native environment, orchestrating AI agents to deliver software continuously.
• Set world‑class engineering standards and champion architectural excellence.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a VP of Engineering or equivalent in a high‑growth startup.
• Track record of scaling engineering teams with unusually high talent density.
• Former individual contributor with deep technical credibility to engage on complex architecture.
• 3‑5 years of leadership experience, comfortable with recruiting, performance management and organisational scaling.
