Vulnerability Researcher

About the role

Join a leading technology and defence organisation in Manchester as a Vulnerability Researcher. You will work within a highly technical cyber team, focusing on low‑level software analysis, vulnerability discovery and advanced security research.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse applications, software and platforms to identify security weaknesses.
• Conduct reverse engineering and binary analysis using industry‑standard tools.
• Develop proof‑of‑concept exploits and contribute to remediation guidance.
• Present detailed findings to technical stakeholders and support secure system design.
• Collaborate with experts in high‑assurance development, red teaming and malware analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience in vulnerability research, penetration testing, red teaming or reverse engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a research‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to communicate complex technical results clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja or similar reverse‑engineering tools.
• Experience using Burp Suite or comparable web‑security testing tools.
• Programming/scripting in C, C++ and Python.
• Solid understanding of operating systems, networking concepts and binary analysis techniques.
