Wake Night Support Worker

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Wake Night Support Worker to join a caring residential childcare home in South East England. The role involves ensuring a safe, calm and welcoming environment for children and young people during the night shift.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular well‑being checks on residents throughout the night.
• Provide reassurance and support if young people wake up.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable and homely environment.
• Complete night reports and hand over information to the daytime team.
• Assist with light household duties such as laundry and tidying.
• Support routines and preparations for the following day.
• Attend required training, team meetings and supervision sessions.

Required profile

• Friendly, caring and dependable with a calm, organised approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Confident communicator with good record‑keeping skills.
• Passionate about supporting children and young people.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards one.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
