About the role
As a Waking Night Recovery Worker you will safeguard the building and support service users throughout the night in Hestia’s Crisis Accommodation service in Medway, Kent. You will provide person‑centred assistance to individuals with complex mental health and substance‑misuse needs, helping them maintain independence and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols, health‑and‑safety inspections, CCTV and alarm monitoring to ensure building security.
- Carry out welfare and flat checks, responding to incidents, mental‑health relapses, and emergencies.
- Co‑produce risk assessments, support plans and crisis interventions in partnership with service users.
- Support residents with health, wellbeing and safety goals, including housing management and caretaking duties.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with relevant legislation.
Required profile
- Resilient, empathetic and calm under pressure.
- Experience supporting people with mental‑health challenges and complex needs.
- Understanding of recovery‑focused practice, co‑production and vulnerable adult support.
- Knowledge of the Care Act, welfare reform and housing pathways.
- Willingness to learn and align with Hestia’s core values.
Required skills
- Strong IT proficiency for record‑keeping and monitoring systems.
