Waking Night Support Worker – Child & Youth

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Waking Night Support Worker to provide specialist care for children and young people in residential and community settings across Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. The role involves delivering trauma‑informed support during night hours, helping young people maintain routines, attend appointments and feel safe.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, consistent, trauma‑informed support to children and young people during night shifts.
• Build trusting, professional relationships and act as a positive role model.
• Assist with daily routines, promote independence, and support education and life‑skill development.
• Transport young people to school, appointments and community activities as required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality care.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding processes.

Required profile

• Caring, patient and emotionally resilient with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Confident communicator with young people and professionals.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing situations.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
• Available for a minimum of 2‑3 night shifts per week.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
