Waking Night Support Worker – Part‑Time (Barrow‑in‑Furness)

About the role

We are seeking calm, resourceful and energetic individuals to join our team as Waking Night Support Workers in Barrow‑in‑Furness. You will provide person‑centred care to adults with autism and learning disabilities, helping them engage in daily activities and community outings throughout the night shift.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care and support with domestic tasks during night hours.
• Facilitate community activities such as walking, swimming and gym visits.
• Manage challenging behaviour with a calm and positive approach.
• Act as a Key Worker, planning support alongside the service user’s circle of support.
• Work independently, ensuring safety and wellbeing of service users.

Required profile

• Prior experience supporting individuals with autism or learning disabilities.
• Willingness to work alone during night shifts (30 hours per week).
• Ability to communicate positively and demonstrate unconditional positive regard.
• Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Positive communication and engagement.
• Understanding of person‑centred care principles.
