Waking Night Support Worker – Residential Childcare

About the role
We are seeking a compassionate Waking Night Support Worker to join our residential children’s home in Greenwich. You will provide overnight care for children and young people who have experienced trauma, ensuring a safe, calm and nurturing environment throughout the night.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain a secure and caring overnight environment in line with individual care plans.
- Carry out regular welfare checks and respond calmly to any incidents.
- Complete accurate handovers, records and daily documentation.
- Administer medication where trained and authorised.
- Support positive behaviour using therapeutic, trauma‑informed approaches.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure consistency of care.
- Help keep the home clean, welcoming and homely.
- Promote safeguarding and uphold Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
Required profile
- Caring, resilient and emotionally mature.
- Calm under pressure with strong communication skills.
- Passionate about helping children achieve positive outcomes.
- Reliable, flexible and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence and aged 22 or over.
Required skills
- Basic IT systems proficiency.
- Medication administration (where trained).
