Warehouse Manager – Night Shift

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing food storage and distribution business that supplies a wide range of food and drink products to the foodservice sector. The company is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to take full ownership of its critical night operation (22:00‑06:00, Sunday‑Thursday) and ensure orders are accurately prepared for next‑day delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the night warehouse operation, guaranteeing all customer orders are picked, packed and ready for dispatch by 06:00.
• Manage and develop a team of 16‑17 warehouse staff, including Team Leaders.
• Conduct structured shift briefings to set clear priorities each night.
• Monitor productivity, accuracy and service levels, taking proactive action to maintain performance.
• Plan labour requirements, create shift rotas and approve annual leave.
• Support colleague development through coaching, one‑to‑ones, training and performance management.
• Oversee activities across ambient, chilled and frozen storage areas, maintaining high operational standards.
• Coordinate with transport scheduling systems to keep deliveries on schedule and resolve issues quickly.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing night‑shift warehouse operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams of 15+ staff.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on process improvement and operational excellence.
• Strong commitment to safety, accuracy and productivity.
