Warehouse Operations Manager

About the role

The Warehouse Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day warehouse, inventory and transport functions for a leading logistics provider in London. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance, and fostering an inclusive, high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide authentic leadership for the operations team and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, including union partnerships.
• Deliver continuous improvement to KPI performance while understanding cost implications of decisions.
• Oversee people management of direct reports, talent spotting, development and succession planning.
• Manage day‑to‑day risk, health, safety and environmental compliance in line with legislation and company policy.
• Identify operational efficiencies and lead improvement initiatives.
• Ensure customer focus is central to all decision‑making processes.
• Collaborate with planning to assess operational capability for key events.
• Work with senior managers to balance service quality and cost optimisation.
• Stay current with legislative changes and implement necessary adjustments.

Required profile

• Previous senior operational leadership experience in a fast‑paced warehousing environment.
• Proven ability to lead, engage and inspire teams in an inclusive manner.
• Positive approach to change with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
• Experience working in a unionised setting and building mutually beneficial stakeholder relationships.
• Demonstrated capability to develop collaborative relationships across all organisational levels.
