Warehouse Operative – Full‑time (Temporary)

About the role

We are a leading distributor seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team in Salford. The role covers a range of warehouse functions, from receiving goods to picking, packing and despatch, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery of orders.

Key responsibilities

• Dispatch orders efficiently and on time, meeting shift deadlines.
• Follow company procedures for time‑keeping, health & safety and conduct.
• Assist in various operational areas as directed by the Line Manager or Team Leader.
• Use initiative to complete additional tasks during quieter periods.
• Collaborate with Team Leaders to streamline processes and maintain smooth operations.
• Share knowledge of warehouse operations to support colleagues.
• Perform any other duties required to meet business needs.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and commitment to company procedures.
• Excellent written communication and basic numeracy.
• Proactive, team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
• Willingness to wear safety boots and a hi‑vis vest at all times.

Required skills

What we offer

• 37.5 hours per week, 10:30 – 19:00, Monday‑Friday.
• Flexibility to work paid overtime as required.
