Warehouse Operative – Night Shift

About the role

The Warehouse Operative works the night shift to ensure safe, accurate and efficient handling of goods in our Maidstone distribution centre. You will receive, store, pick, load and dispatch products while maintaining high standards of stock accuracy and food safety.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and unload deliveries, checking quantities against documentation.
• Store items in the correct locations, including temperature‑controlled zones.
• Pick and pack orders for dispatch, ensuring correct items and quantities.
• Load trucks and prepare goods for shipment.
• Process returned merchandise, record details and store appropriately.
• Maintain a clean, safe and compliant work environment, following health, safety and food hygiene procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution setting.
• Good communication and numeracy with strong attention to detail.
• Valid Fork Lift Truck licence and certification for mechanical handling equipment.
• Understanding of safe manual handling techniques.
• Experience with temperature‑controlled or food‑related goods is advantageous.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (FLT licence).
• Mechanical handling equipment certification.
• Use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Stock control processes.
• Food safety and hygiene knowledge.

What we offer

• £14.20 per hour.
• 4 nights on / 4 nights off shift pattern (18:00‑06:00).
• Full‑time permanent role.
