Warehouse Supervisor – Freight & Logistics

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead freight handling, LCL consolidation and container loading within a busy shipping and logistics environment. You will ensure that freight is received, inspected, measured, labelled and loaded efficiently while upholding the highest standards of safety and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day warehouse operations and supervise staff and loading teams.
• Check incoming and outgoing freight against shipping documentation and verify measurements and weights.
• Oversee cargo inspections, labelling, marking and preparation for export.
• Maintain warehouse organisation, cleanliness and health & safety standards.
• Plan and execute LCL shipments, consolidating freight from multiple customers while maximising container utilisation.
• Ensure cargo compatibility, segregation and compliance with carrier requirements.
• Plan and monitor container loading, applying load planning and weight distribution principles.
• Conduct final checks before container sealing and dispatch.
• Liaise with customers, maintain accurate records and resolve freight discrepancies.
• Lead, motivate and develop warehouse personnel, fostering a safety‑first culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior warehouse supervisory or management role within freight or logistics.
• Strong understanding of container load planning, weight distribution and LCL consolidation.
• Ability to manage teams, maintain high accuracy and meet productivity targets.
• Excellent knowledge of health & safety standards in a warehouse setting.

What we offer

• Competitive salary £32,000‑£37,000 per annum.
• Full‑time permanent contract, Monday‑Friday 8:00‑16:30.
