Warehouse Supervisor – Manufacturing & Stores

About the role

We are seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our manufacturing warehouse and stores in Bolton. The role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, and ensuring safe, efficient material flow to support production and customer demands.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and motivate warehouse operatives and store personnel.
• Allocate tasks, monitor performance and ensure productivity targets are met.
• Provide training, coaching and performance feedback.
• Manage inventory levels, stock accuracy and conduct cycle counts in partnership with the Materials Manager.
• Oversee goods‑in and goods‑out processes, ensuring timely receipt, storage and dispatch of materials.
• Optimise warehouse layout and processes, maintaining accurate records in ERP/WMS.
• Monitor KPIs such as order accuracy, picking rates and inventory turnover.
• Enforce health and safety policies, conduct risk assessments and report incidents.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment such as forklifts and report any maintenance issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a supervisory warehouse or stores role, preferably within manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management and warehouse processes.
• Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems.
• Good leadership, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills.
• Relevant logistics or supply‑chain qualifications (desirable).
• Forklift licence (preferred).
