Warehouse Supervisor / Team Leader – Freight

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead a busy freight‑focused warehouse. You will be responsible for coordinating daily workloads, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining smooth inbound and outbound operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and prioritise daily warehouse tasks to meet operational deadlines.
• Supervise inbound and outbound shipments, including loading and unloading vehicles and containers.
• Operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment safely.
• Perform warehouse administration such as receipt, booking‑in of shipments and use of the warehouse management system.
• Maintain housekeeping standards, conduct regular health‑and‑safety inspections and audits.
• Ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety legislation and company procedures.
• Secure the warehouse and its contents, liaise with staff, drivers, import/export teams and third‑party transport providers.
• Assist with problem‑solving, operational issues and occasional company vehicle use for cargo collection and delivery.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor or similar leadership role.
• Valid and current Forklift Truck Licence.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics processes.
• Excellent understanding of health and safety legislation.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and able to resolve operational issues effectively.
