Waste Segregation Officer – Basingstoke

About the role

You will join a growing environmental services company to organise customers' waste into the correct recycling and non‑recycling streams. The role involves on‑site work at client locations, ensuring waste is sorted safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, sort and place waste from bin bags into designated recycling and landfill bins.
• Operate waste handling equipment such as compactors and balers safely.
• Load and unload waste containers using proper lifting techniques.
• Maintain tidy, hazard‑free waste areas and conduct routine inspections.
• Follow health and safety protocols, including the use of safety boots and high‑visibility clothing.
• Communicate with customers to resolve any issues or special requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to improve waste management processes.

Required profile

• Reliable with strong attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Willingness to work Monday to Saturday and start immediately.
• Physical capability to handle heavy lifting and operate machinery.

Required skills

• Operating waste handling equipment.
• Mechanical knowledge (advantageous but not mandatory).
