Waste Water Quality Technician (Part‑time)

About the role

South West Water is seeking a Waste Water Quality Technician to join its Environmental Performance team on a permanent, part‑time basis. Working a one‑week on, one‑week off rota (including one weekend in every 12), you will be based at the Bodmin depot and support the company’s commitment to high‑quality wastewater monitoring across the South West.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out wastewater sampling in line with ISO17025:2017, OSM, UV and UWWTR regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records, ensure sample integrity and comply with quality management systems.
• Follow risk assessments, procedures and training guidance to work safely at all times.
• Represent South West Water positively with customers, site operators and external organisations.
• Travel flexibly across the region and participate in the weekend rota as required.

Required profile

• 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths, English and a Science subject (Grade C/4 or above).
• Experience managing workloads and meeting deadlines.
• Good geographical knowledge of the South West.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely.
• Full UK driving licence.
