Water Quality Technician

About the role

As a Water Quality Technician at Veolia in Tidworth, you will ensure the integrity of water supplies by performing precise sampling, analysis and monitoring in line with UK standards. You will work closely with customers and the operations team to maintain high environmental and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Follow site rules, lone‑worker procedures and “Stop the Job” protocol, reporting safety concerns and incidents.
• Collect statutory and operational water quality samples according to UKAS‑accredited ISO 17025 methods, keep detailed records and investigate any quality issues.
• Inspect, calibrate and maintain sampling equipment, ensuring all devices are fit for use.
• Use remote monitoring tools to verify plant conditions, manage consumables and log data in the Eco online (AVA) system.
• Support the Team Manager in emergency situations, troubleshoot breakdowns and uphold housekeeping, quality, health‑safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in water quality sampling and testing with knowledge of UKAS ISO 17025 and DWI standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, lone‑worker procedures and hazard identification.
• Ability to investigate issues, troubleshoot equipment and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
