Water Safety Equipment Maintainer / Safety Swimmer

About the role

This full‑time position supports Royal Navy recruit training at HMS Raleigh by maintaining water safety equipment and acting as a surface swimmer during practical sessions. You will work in a secure, on‑site environment and receive training for additional seamanship duties.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and operate water safety equipment using the official logbook.
• Serve as a safety surface swimmer in the pool to facilitate training delivery.
• Demonstrate equipment use and conduct safety drills.
• Support post‑training assessments and related activities.
• Deliver instruction in rigging (splicing), sea‑survival techniques and equipment supervision after training.

Required profile

• Competent swimmer with a safety swimmer qualification.
• Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance at SC level.
• Proficiency with IT tools in a workplace setting.
