Job description
About the role
Barclays is looking for a Product Owner Support in its Wealth Management business, within Product Development & Management. The role works closely with Product Owners and cross-functional teams to turn priorities into clear actions, support delivery planning and help teams move from concept to implementation. It uses client insight, data and emerging technologies, including AI, to inform business analysis and delivery decisions. The role is based in London, Knutsford, Northampton or Glasgow.
Key responsibilities
- Support Product Owners in defining product vision and keeping the product aligned with business goals, using market research, customer feedback and industry trends.
- Communicate the product vision and goals to delivery teams and write clear user stories with acceptance criteria.
- Take part in Agile events such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Create, maintain and prioritise the product backlog, balancing risk migration and future-proofing against the product strategy.
- Gather customer feedback and act as the voice of the customer, reviewing and accepting work against acceptance criteria.
- Monitor product performance with KPIs and adjust the backlog and roadmap accordingly.
- Manage ongoing readiness and run activities of live products, including monitoring, governance and approvals.
- Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and escalate them where necessary, in line with risk and control requirements.
Required profile
- Experience in product ownership, business analysis using data science and AI, digital delivery, agile delivery or transformation-related roles.
- Experience supporting digital product development through backlog refinement, requirements gathering, user stories, acceptance criteria and delivery planning.
- Ability to work in cross-functional environments and coordinate priorities, dependencies, risks and stakeholder communications.
- Turning ambiguity into clear actions, plans and deliverables, with attention to detail.
Required skills
- Highly valued: wealth management, investing, UX, CX and digital business building experience.
- Understanding of UX and CX principles and confidence preparing updates, presentations and governance materials.
- Curiosity about digital innovation, AI and emerging technologies.
- Assessment may cover risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology skills.
The role is permanent. Working arrangements follow a hybrid model with fixed anchor days, and flexible working can be discussed with the hiring manager. Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK.
