Web Developer – Full‑Stack (PHP/Laravel)

About the role

We are looking for a Web Developer to join our software development team, delivering and maintaining a suite of web applications. The role is hybrid, with three days a week in our North East England office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain web applications using a PHP‑based MVC framework such as Laravel.
• Build responsive front‑end interfaces with HTML, CSS and JavaScript frameworks (React or Vue.js).
• Design and optimise database schemas and queries in MySQL/SQLite.
• Integrate internal systems and third‑party APIs.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Monitor performance, resolve issues and apply security best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions on time.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in web development with strong PHP skills, preferably using Laravel.
• Solid front‑end experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and a modern framework (React or Vue.js).
• Good understanding of relational databases and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
