Web Developer – PHP/Laravel

About the role

We are looking for a Web Developer to join our growing engineering team in Newcastle. You will design, build and maintain high‑traffic digital platforms using PHP/Laravel and modern front‑end technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using PHP (Laravel).
• Build responsive, user‑friendly interfaces with modern front‑end technologies.
• Design and optimise databases for performance and scalability.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and internal systems.
• Deploy and manage applications in an AWS cloud environment.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure security best practices.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong PHP development experience, preferably with Laravel.
• Solid front‑end skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and familiarity with React or Vue.
• Experience working with relational databases and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS.
• Proficiency with version control and CI/CD practices.
• Good understanding of performance, scalability, and security.
• Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work in a fast‑moving environment.
