Weekend Workshop Assistant

About the role

This is a weekend‑only position supporting manufacturing operations at Adecco's Gillingham site. You will work Friday to Sunday, performing hands‑on tasks that keep the workshop running smoothly while adhering to quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out project‑specific manufacturing activities during weekend shifts.
• Fit and assemble parts using hand tools.
• Perform basic fabrication tasks such as measuring, drilling and cutting.
• Follow work instructions and engineering drawings, reporting any discrepancies.
• Conduct quality checks before and after manufacturing processes.
• Assist with site opening and closing duties.
• Maintain health, safety and internal manufacturing procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement.

Required profile

• Reliable and hands‑on with a proactive attitude.
• Honest, trustworthy and able to work independently when needed.
• Good communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
• Strong attention to detail and health‑safety awareness.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting engineering/manufacturing drawings.
• Using hand tools for assembly and fabrication.
• Measuring, drilling and cutting components.
• Performing basic fabrication tasks.
• Conducting quality checks on manufactured parts.
