Weighbridge Operator

About the role

As a Weighbridge Operator at Veolia you will play a key part in ensuring accurate measurement of vehicles entering and leaving the site, supporting the company's commitment to sustainable waste management. You will work 12‑hour shifts in a fast‑moving environment while upholding the highest health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the weighbridge to capture vehicle weights accurately.
• Record and store weight data, waste type codes and supporting paperwork.
• Control vehicle entry and exit to maintain safe traffic flow and only allow compliant loads.
• Identify and escalate non‑compliant loads, including overweight or contaminated vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, tidy work area and wear appropriate PPE.
• Report service, safety, environmental issues and any bribery offers promptly.

Required profile

• Safety‑first mindset with confidence to stop work when unsafe.
• Excellent attention to detail for accurate data entry.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with drivers and team members.
• Good time‑management and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Team‑oriented attitude and willingness to support broader operations.
• Administrative experience and basic confidence using computer systems is desirable.
• Flexibility and reliability to work 12‑hour shifts, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
