Welder (MIG/TIG) – Thin-gauge aluminium

About the role

Our client in Farnborough is looking for an experienced and motivated MIG/TIG Welder to join their growing production team. The role focuses on thin‑gauge aluminium welding to demanding engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out high‑quality MIG and TIG welding on thin‑gauge aluminium (1.5 mm–6 mm).
• Fabricate, assemble and weld complex components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Set up and safely operate welding equipment, hand tools and fabrication machinery.
• Prepare, clean and finish completed fabrications for further production processes.
• Inspect finished work using verniers, micrometers and other measuring equipment.
• Work to production schedules while maintaining high quality standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of fabrication experience.
• Proven experience with MIG and TIG welding, especially on thin‑gauge aluminium.
• Extensive experience with complex builds and assemblies.
• Experience working with mild steel and stainless steel.
• Ability to confidently read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Experience using inspection and measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail.

• Working hours: Mon‑Thu 08:00‑16:45, Fri 08:00‑13:00.
