Welfare Assistant – Teaching Assistant (Level 2) – Temporary

About the role

Reed, a Lancashire teaching agency, is seeking a Welfare Assistant (Teaching Assistant Level 2) for a temporary, part‑time position starting in September 2026. The role supports students in a school environment in Rawtenstall, working five days a week for one hour each day.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to help students understand material and complete tasks.
• Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment.
• Prepare and manage classroom resources and activity setups.
• Supervise students during non‑classroom times such as lunch and recess.
• Help monitor and record student progress.

Required profile

• Holding a Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
