About the role

Join Airbus' Wing Repairs (SRM) team in Filton as an Intern Engineer, developing core skills in wing structure repair and design for future aerospace projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform static stress analysis from first principles to Finite Element Modelling.
• Conduct fatigue and damage tolerance assessments.
• Design components using CATIA, manage configurations and work with Digital Mock‑Up tools.
• Automate processes through coding and data‑analysis techniques.
• Support repair projects, gaining project‑management, business and financial insight.
• Collaborate with multi‑national teams, enhancing leadership and customer‑focus skills.

Required profile

• Undergraduate studying Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering, remaining enrolled for the full 12.5‑month placement.
• Strong interest in aerospace and the civil aircraft market.
• Excellent oral and written communication, teamwork and client‑orientation.
• Curiosity, adaptability and motivation to work in a dynamic environment.

Required skills

• CATIA proficiency.
• Finite Element Modelling (FEM) for stress analysis.
• Coding skills (e.g., Python) for automation.
• Data‑analysis techniques.
