Wiring Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Wiring Technician to join a busy manufacturing and engineering team on a 6‑month contract in Poole. The role involves hands‑on work assembling, wiring, testing and repairing electronic equipment for innovative products.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture, test, repair and inspect electronic equipment to relevant specifications and standards.
• Manage assigned batches of products through manufacture, test and repair processes.
• Record and capture quality data accurately and maintain detailed test records.
• Carry out testing procedures using appropriate electronic test equipment.
• Assist with the creation and modification of Standard Operating Procedures and assembly documentation.
• Build new products and equipment from prototype information, often with limited data.
• Identify and report improvements to assembly processes and documentation.
• Prepare completed equipment for dispatch.
• Read and interpret schematic drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Mechanically build and wire prototype projects and perform advanced wiring activities.
• Provide technical solutions to manufacturing challenges while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• C&G qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or significant relevant industry experience.
• Experience in electronics assembly, wiring, testing and inspection.
• Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Experience using electronic test equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and test records.
• Good problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently.

What we offer

• 6‑month contract with possible extension
• £14.47 per hour
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
