Work Specification Engineer

About the role

The Work Specification Engineer will join EDF UK's Work Engineering Group, focusing on the specification of work order packages for plant defects across all systems. The role ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards while supporting the production of Work Week, Refuelling and Statutory Outage Plans.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and resolve potential issues within complex jobs, assess additional tasks and resources, and verify defects and equipment problems.
• Assemble and maintain work order packages and model work orders for plant defects.
• Produce Work Week, Refuelling and Statutory Outage Plans in line with the Work Management Process.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to investigate plant failures and develop engineered solutions.
• Act as an Authorised Person Safety Assessment (APSA) and Significant Risk Permit Writer after completing required training and authorisation.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering qualification and experience in power‑plant or industrial environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work to strict safety and environmental standards.
• Strong analytical skills to assess defects and devise corrective work packs.
• Willingness to undertake APSA and Significant Risk Permit training and maintain authorisation.
