Workshop Controller – Dagenham

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead the workshop operations at a busy automotive dealership in Dagenham. The role involves overseeing daily activities, allocating work to technicians, and ensuring high standards of quality, safety and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the day‑to‑day running of the workshop, coordinating with the Service Department.
• Allocate jobs to technicians based on skill set and workload to maximise productivity.
• Monitor workshop performance, ensuring jobs are completed on schedule and to manufacturer standards.
• Motivate and support the workshop team to achieve performance targets.
• Maintain health, safety and quality compliance throughout the workshop.
• Communicate repair progress to customers and handle technical queries.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Senior Technician or Workshop Supervisor in the motor trade.
• Strong leadership and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Vehicle diagnostic knowledge.
