Workshop Controller - HGV

About the role

Join a well‑established commercial vehicle dealership as a Workshop Controller, overseeing daily workshop operations for heavy goods vehicles. You will ensure efficient workflow, maximise productivity, and deliver outstanding service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate work, coordinate bookings and front‑of‑house activities.
• Maximise hours sold, revenue per transaction and product sales while following VHC processes.
• Lead, coach and develop the workshop team, manage training and leave.
• Maintain equipment, arrange calibrations and perform tooling checks.
• Ensure parts availability, manage displaced parts and complete accurate repair documentation.
• Uphold VWCV warranty standards and ISO/manufacturer requirements.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, supervisor, team leader, operations manager, foreman or similar role in an HGV environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of heavy vehicles and health & safety procedures.
• Proven ability to lead and develop workshop teams.

• Competitive salary £38,000‑£43,000 plus up to £6,000 bonus (OTE up to £49,000).
