Workshop Engineer (Commercial Kitchen Equipment)

About the role

We are seeking a Workshop Engineer to join our engineering team, focusing on the inspection, servicing, repair and refurbishment of commercial kitchen equipment. The role is based in our Canterbury workshop and offers a stable, hands‑on environment without field service duties.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair and refurbish commercial combi ovens and related catering equipment.
• Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
• Test equipment and ensure it meets company quality standards before resale.
• Maintain accurate service records and asset information using internal systems.
• Monitor and manage spare‑parts stock levels in the workshop and warehouse.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and administration teams to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Maintain a safe, organised and efficient workshop environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience servicing commercial combi ovens.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced workshop.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to work full‑time on‑site.

Required skills

• Commercial combi oven servicing and refurbishment.
• Electrical fault diagnosis.
• Mechanical fault diagnosis.
• Knowledge of Rational equipment (highly desirable).
• Familiarity with Electrolux, Convotherm, Bonnet or Eloma equipment.
