Workshop Engineer – Hydraulic & Suspension Systems

About the role

We are looking for a Workshop Engineer to join a specialist engineering business that designs and fits hydraulic levelling and air‑suspension systems for motorhomes, caravans, ambulances and other bespoke vehicles. Based in Bolney near Haywards Heath, you will work within a close‑knit team reporting to the Workshop Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Install and service hydraulic levelling and air‑suspension systems on a variety of vehicles.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals to carry out installations.
• Perform fabrication and MIG‑welding tasks as required.
• Demonstrate completed work to customers and provide training on system use.
• Provide technical support by phone and occasional site visits.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Promote company standards and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Attend training workshops and comply with health‑and‑safety procedures.

Required profile

• Hands‑on technician with vehicle fitting experience.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and initiative.
• Full UK driving licence and own tools; occasional travel for training.
• Valid passport is desirable.

What we offer

• Salary £30,000‑£36,000 per annum plus OTE up to £4,000 after probation.
• Permanent, full‑time role, Monday‑Friday 8:30‑17:00.
