Workshop HGV Engineer – Full‑time Day Shifts

About the role

Join a family‑run global fleet solutions group as a Workshop HGV Engineer on permanent day‑shift contracts. You will work in a vibrant workshop environment, maintaining a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles and receiving continuous training on new products.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance, MOT preparation and scheduled servicing to DVSA standards.
• Perform 6‑ or 8‑weekly inspections, identify and correct running defects.
• Undertake chassis and fabrication work, as well as hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and wiring repairs.
• Inspect and improve vehicle standards, including trailers, tipper bodies, refuse collection trucks, road sweepers and light commercial vans.

Required profile

• Fully qualified (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent) HGV technician.
• Relevant additional accreditations such as IRTEC are desirable.
• Possession of an HGV Class 1 licence is advantageous.

Required skills

• City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in vehicle engineering.
• IRTEC accreditation (preferred).
• HGV Class 1 licence (preferred).
• Proficiency with hydraulics and pneumatics systems.
• Electrical wiring and diagnostics expertise.
• Chassis fabrication and repair skills.
