Workshop Technician – Electrical & Mechanical (Lancaster)

About the role

This permanent, onsite position is based in a workshop in Lancaster, supporting a market‑leading engineering business that designs, manufactures, hires and maintains bespoke storage equipment. You will work on a variety of electrical and mechanical projects, gaining specialist training and progression opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and install hardware onto steel fabrications.
• Wire and terminate single‑phase and three‑phase electrical systems.
• Connect pumps, motors, control panels and lighting circuits.
• Carry out pressure tests, electrical continuity checks and fault finding.
• Perform final inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Mechanical or electrical maintenance/workshop background.
• Experience with plumbing, pneumatics, hydraulics, pipe bending or control panels is advantageous.
• Ability to commute to Lancaster.

Required skills

• Wiring and termination of single‑phase and three‑phase systems.
• Pressure testing of equipment.
• Electrical continuity testing.
• Fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Assembly of steel fabrications and hardware installation.
• Connecting pumps, motors and control panels.
• Installation of lighting circuits.
• Knowledge of plumbing, pneumatics, hydraulics and pipe bending.

• Salary £35,000‑£40,000 per year (OTE £42,000‑£50,000).
