Yard Operative – Equipment Delivery & Collection

About the role

Join a small, dynamic team in Exeter as a Yard Operative, supporting the delivery and collection of equipment to customer sites and other branches. You will work under the direction of the Foreman and Branch Manager, ensuring safe and efficient yard operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and collect equipment to and from customer locations and other branches.
• Follow company Health and Safety procedures for all yard activities.
• Greet customers, visitors and drivers, directing them to the branch office.
• Manage delivery and return paperwork accurately.
• Load and unload equipment safely in line with risk assessments.
• Inspect equipment for correct quantity and condition on both deliveries and returns.
• Assist the Yard Foreman with stock and fleet monitoring, reporting discrepancies.
• Carry out stock‑takes according to company procedures.

Required profile

• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physical capability to perform manual loading and unloading tasks.
