About the role
Chestnut Building Centres Ltd is seeking an experienced Yard Operative to join its busy builder's yard in Wavertree, Liverpool. You will play a key part in keeping the yard running smoothly, supporting both trade customers and the public with prompt service.
Key responsibilities
- Serve customers quickly and efficiently
- Collate orders for delivery
- Receive and check incoming deliveries
- Ensure paperwork is accurate
- Assist with regular stock takes
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Undertake reasonable tasks requested by the Branch Manager
Required profile
- Valid Forklift Licence
- Understanding of general building, roofing and timber materials
- Flexible ‘can‑do’ attitude
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills

What we offer
- £12.76 per hour plus regular overtime (time and a half on Saturdays)
- Permanent, full‑time contract
- Monday‑Friday 07:30‑16:30, optional Saturday mornings
