Yard Operative (Temp-to-Perm)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Yard Operative to support the day‑to‑day running of a busy yard and warehouse in Cheltenham. This is a full‑time, Monday‑to‑Friday position on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis, offering the chance to build a long‑term career within a growing logistics operation.

Key responsibilities

• Pick and pack orders accurately for customer dispatch.
• Prepare, organise and load orders ready for collection and delivery.
• Carry out regular manual handling and lifting duties throughout the day.
• Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Clean and wash products and equipment as required.
• Inspect items to ensure they meet quality standards before dispatch.
• Organise stock and maintain storage areas.
• Maintain a clean, safe and tidy yard and warehouse environment.
• Perform general yard and warehouse duties as needed.

Required profile

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Comfortable with physical work, including frequent lifting and manual handling.
• Previous experience in a warehouse, yard, picking, packing or logistics environment is desirable but not essential.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy when preparing orders.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors as required.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
