Yard Person / Mill Operative – Animal Feed Mill

About the role

Contract Personnel Limited is recruiting a Yard Person/Mill Operative for a brand‑new, state‑of‑the‑art animal feed mill located just outside Long Stratton, Norfolk. The family‑owned business, established in 2004, focuses on manufacturing high‑quality feed for outdoor pig breeding units across the east of England.

Key responsibilities

• Loading and unloading raw materials and finished product.
• Learning to control the milling process using a bespoke control system.
• Performing basic mill maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Manual handling and weighing of ingredients.
• Sampling raw materials and managing stock inventory.

Required profile

• Able to work effectively alone and as part of a team.
• Competent with computers.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Efficient in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Physically fit with a flexible working attitude.

Required skills

• Forklift/telehandler licence.
• First‑aid certification.
• Fire‑training qualification.
• Health and safety awareness.
