Year 1 Class Teacher – Hemel Hempstead

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Year 1 Class Teacher to join a friendly, supportive primary school in Hemel Hempstead. The role involves nurturing young learners at a critical stage, working alongside experienced teaching assistants and a collaborative teaching team to create an engaging, inclusive classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Year 1 lessons that meet the national curriculum.
• Support pupils as they transition to more structured learning environments.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and senior staff to monitor pupil progress.
• Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe learning environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Strong passion for Key Stage 1 education.
• Effective classroom management skills.
• Caring, enthusiastic and nurturing approach.
• Commitment to supporting every child's progress.
• Ability to commute to Hemel Hempstead.
