Year 1 Primary Teacher (Full‑time, Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Year 1 Primary Teacher to join a popular mainstream primary school in Mitcham, South East England. The role is full‑time on a temporary contract covering the academic year, with the possibility of extension or a permanent position based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Year 1 lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Assess and mark student work, providing constructive feedback.
• Organise and attend parents’ evenings and communicate progress.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to whole‑school initiatives.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and fellow staff to support pupil development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience teaching EYFS/KS1/KS2 in the UK.
• Current safeguarding training completed within the last year.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS with online update service.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
