Year 1 Supply Teacher – Primary

About the role

Reed Education is seeking enthusiastic Year 1 supply teachers for primary schools across Hampshire. You will step into classrooms on a day‑to‑day basis, delivering the curriculum and supporting pupils aged 5‑6 while enjoying flexible working patterns.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons and activities in line with the school’s curriculum.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Manage pupil behaviour using effective strategies.
• Record attendance and basic assessment data as required.
• Collaborate with permanent staff to ensure continuity of learning.

Required profile

• Relevant classroom experience, preferably with Year 1 pupils.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Adaptability to work in different school settings.
• Professional, proactive attitude and willingness to follow school policies.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Passion for supporting early‑year learning and development.

Required skills

• Enhanced DBS clearance (or ability to obtain).
